Enter this divine spot and prepare to indulge in a most amazing experience. The contemporary décor offers a simple, but upscale, feel with white walls, hanging lights, beautiful wood tables and a focal sushi bar. The food stars as chef/owner Wayne Conwell serves the most delicious Japanese dishes from sushi to cooked dishes that show finesse and creativity. Start with sushi rolls, sashimi, tempura or a Japanese Caesar salad tossed with tangy tofu-yuzu anchovy dressing with a Parmesan roll and marinated blue fish. The array of sushi and sashimi is amazing. Pick your favorites or enjoy a terrific choice of complete dinners for "beginners" or "gourmets." These include miso soup, an amazing salad and a fantastic selection of sushi rolls. For a special treat, let the chef prepare a dinner you will long remember. Start with halibut carpaccio in a light marinade and follow with incredible yellowtail tartare with caviar, soy and fresh wasabi. The giant clam fondue arrives in a small cup. Cooked in cheese and sake, the combination of the clam's texture with the vegetables is sensational. Monkfish liver pate, a special delicacy in a Japanese meal, comes surrounded by a light mustard sauce. The sea bass in black-bean sauce and the soy-and-sake black cod are presented with complementary vegetables that add texture and spicy flavor to the fish. The tuna sushi rolls with avocado, fresh ginger and wasabi bring raves by all. The array of decadent desserts--molten-chocolate tower, banana-rum-chocolate-mousse cake, crème brûlée, flan and ice creams make a perfect ending. Each presentation is picture-perfect in design, ethereal in taste. The wine and sake list is well thought out to add to the pleasure of the meal. Sushi Sasa is a most exciting restaurant and a sensational addition to the Denver dining scene.
