Enter into this one-room eatery and find a very casual ambience with high ceilings, gold and black paint, Argentinean soccer pennants and wine bottles displayed on the walls. A huge coffee bar is the focal point of the room, and although the coffee is delicious, the food is what this place is all about. No linen cloths or fancy settings, but friendly efficient staff start the meal by opening containers full of an oil, vinegar, oregano, garlic and red pepper mix for dipping the divine homemade bread that arrives. The empanadas (baked turnovers) are a must; filled with beef, chicken, vegetarian and combinations, they make a great appetizer or entrée. Enjoy the several sandwiches and salads, but the pizza is outrageous. Choose from the list topped with fresh tomato sauce or the olive oil variety. Both shine. Try everything from cheese to Hawaiian, veggie to egg and bacon or pizza with shrimp. The olive oil margarita is totally awesome as are the chicken, mushroom and prosciutto pies. The crust is very thin with a perfect texture. Gooey wonderful cheeses of great quality top the dough, and every ingredient is as fresh as possible to add to the taste. Pizzas come small, medium and large but don't over order, as the small is big enough for sharing. Whatever your choice, you will relish each bite and the rest will make a perfect snack later. Desserts are extraordinary, with chocolate mousse, flan and tres-leches cake. The wines of Argentina entice by bottle or glass, and beers make a perfect accompaniment to the dishes, as well. Tango lessons add to the fun on Thursday nights, and several special dinner options are available during each month. It may be a long way to get to Argentina, but Buenos Aires Pizzeria is a short ride and a place to visit often.
