From its humble beginnings in a Minneapolis basement, this Italian restaurant has sprouted up in major shopping areas and downtown districts across the country. Drawing on the family-style traditions of southern Italy, portions at Buca are designed for sharing. An order of pasta easily feeds three or four people, and that’s only one course. Start with platters of mussels, bruschetta, garlic bread, pizzas or a massive salad. Small divided rooms allow you to get rowdy when you’re celebrating with a couple dozen friends, and the servers will gather diners from around the restaurant to sing well wishes.
