The Rialto Café, located in the Marriott Courtyard Hotel on 16th Street, feels like a freestanding restaurant, with huge picture windows, lots of wood and a terrific bar that all nicely accent the art deco décor. Enjoy drinks or dinner in that area or in the dining room. If you choose, opt for the special tapas that are served in the early evening. The American-themed menu also offers hints of Asian spice. Appetizers include tuna with soy and ginger, crab cakes and mussels in broth. Salads feature some great combinations—a tomato mozzarella stack, panzanella bread salad and Waldorf. Entrées include roasted half chicken, penne with sausage and spicy tomato sauce, lamb chops and seafood stir-fry with sticky rice. End with a nice selection of desserts. A section that offers super salads and sandwiches at any hour makes for a great choice for diners who want something light before theater. The Sunday brunch features a buffet of fruits, muffins and bagels along with an entrée choice off the menu. The egg stack, Benedict, pancakes and waffles are all sensational. If lunch is your thing, the Cobb salad and blackened salmon sandwich make good choices. Rialto is a nice choice for downtown dining or before a Denver Center for Performing Arts event.
