There are more Asian eateries than one can count in Denver, but Moongate stands out among them. With only 26 seats, the bright colors, umbrellas, fish on the walls and a palm tree make the space feel open and welcoming. Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai dishes arrive in huge portions at reasonable prices. Start with crispy spring rolls wrapped in a thin pancake and fried. Other appetizers include edamame, chicken satay and crab Rangoon. Pineapple, vegetables, eggs, cashews, chicken and shrimp combine to bring great flavor to the Thai fried rice. Yushan chicken, full of delicious vegetables and garlic sauce, pleases with a perfect balance of sweet and spice. Lightly battered and fried whitefish fillets with black-bean sauce make a great Chinese entrée.
