With a first-floor bar perfect for a snack or late-night get-together and an upscale upstairs dining room, 1515 makes for an excellent fine-dining experience. The Executive Chef deftly combines flavors and has a flair for plate presentation. Divine homemade breads and dipping sauce whet your appetite for the first course. Start with an amazing tuna sandwich--quite possibly the best sandwich ever--with tuna tartare, onion jam, and tomatoes served on crispy flatbread. The cheese platter, crab cakes, and duck leg confit are other great choices. The mixed greens with maple vinaigrette, roasted pears, pecans, and goat cheese is another must. The chili and clove rubbed chicken in a coconut-cilantro broth blends all of these flavors into an outstanding dish. Try the champagne-seared salmon with chive crème or the ever-so-tender Kobe steak with a potato latke. Other options include a hanging tender steak with maple taro cakes, lamb shank, buffalo, and ahi, as well as several vegetarian options. The meals are served up almost too pretty to eat. End with chocolate mousse or an exceptional apple tart with ice cream. Owner Gene Tang takes great pride in an extraordinary wine list, matching the glassware to each selection. With excellent service and affordable prices, 1515 Restaurant makes for a delightful time in LoDo. Ask for directions to the parking garage--the restaurant will cover the expense.
