Colt & Gray brings great excitement to the Platte area with great design and food. The place is gorgeous starting with a fabulous patio that gives a perfect view of the walking bridge as well as downtown. Enter and be wowed by the bar area with great seating and lighting that adds to the sophisticated rustic feel. The second room is a bit more formal with white linens but both feature all the chairs, table trim and framed mirrors done with wood finished with resin that looks like stunning tortoise shell. The chairs are covered in almond colored ultra suede and fireplaces add to the scene. The food, very contemporary and fresh, matches the décor and brings super tastes and options for all. Bar snacks include fried oysters, crispy pig trotter, blue cheese dusted gourgeres and bacon cashew carmel corn. Charcuterie and cheese delight with a changing selection of cheeses and ham, bresaola, salmon gravlox, pate or duck prosciutto. Create your own platter and enjoy. Small plates range from divine heirloom tomatoes with burrata, frisee salad with crispy poached egg, wild mushrooms and mustard thyme vinaigrette, gnocchi, oysters, salmon tartare, chili garlic prawns, amazing roasted marrow bones and foie gras. Entrees shine as well: salmon with mixed greens, flank steak with blue cheese, trout with guanciali, lobster “bangers & Mash”, chicken, and rack of lamb with glazed lamb belly make decisions impossible. Add items from the grill: burgers, duck breast, veal or pork chop, and balsamic glazed quail. Pick the side of the best grilled broccoli, marinated beets, ratatouille, fries or green beans. Decadent desserts end the meal with sticky toffee pudding, tarte tatin, panna cotta, peach crumble, and an outrageous chocolate cake, all with your option of homemade ice creams.
