Enter this beautiful restaurant and the aroma of the goodies to come will make you anxious to be seated and start the feast. Cinnamon-colored walls, trellis ceiling and huge murals set the scene. Black granite tables and comfortable seating add to the ambience. Start with poppadums with tamarind and mint dipping sauces. For appetizers, try the divine vegetable samosas and onion strings, both seasoned with cumin and flavorful spices. The lamb vindaloo is spicy hot and delicious, while the chicken saag combines chopped spinach with garlic, ginger, onion, tomato and whipped yogurt. The tandoori chicken sizzles when served with onions, pepper and lemon. Fish masala combines tandoori preparation with a thick, creamy curry sauce to balance the dish. Don’t miss the nan bread: garlic, onion, lamb and more. The variety of dishes is huge, each with special spices, which makes for an exciting dining experience. End with typical ethnic desserts and extraordinary chai tea. Service is great, prices reasonable, the wine and beer list nice. With the gracious staff, this welcoming restaurant should be a must on the list for great Indian cuisine. The original Little India remains very popular on East 6th Avenue
