The sushi bar, with a huge aquarium on the back wall and an open kitchen, provides two interior focal points. The room has great lighting and comfortable seating. The bar area is both inside and out, and the aquarium wall can be seen from both sides. The patio is awesome, complete with heat lamps for cooler evenings. The contemporary American cuisine, spiced with Island accents, features an array of sushi, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, noodle dishes, Island pizzas and entrées. Among the signature dishes are macadamia nut chicken, Big Island meatloaf, five-spice baby-back ribs, lemongrass-crusted swordfish, sweet chili-glazed salmon and Kona steaks. Guests also enjoy the happy-hour specials served in the lounge. In addition to discounted drink prices, Kona Grill’s happy hour features half price on selected appetizers, island pizzas and sushi rolls. This is a big bargain, as portions are huge for sharing.
