8 Rivers brings new taste to the very popular Highlands area, with spicy Caribbean food served in a fun atmosphere. The small restaurant is warm and friendly with soft colors and casual seating. A small patio is perfect for dining, weather permitting. Start with jerk wings, escovitch shrimp, delightful wonton wraps served with fruit chutney and a Jamaican beef patty in a flaky pastry with aioli. Enjoy the house salad or shrimp, chicken or steak that can be ordered as a side or entrée. The pasta dishes are fun with curried chicken pasta, jerk chicken rigatoni, ravioli or a very interesting combination of rigatoni, chicken and Jamaican curry. Entrées range from jerk chicken, stewed oxtails, and lamb chops to smoked pork, curries, and steak. Seafood lovers will enjoy curried shrimp, halibut in coconut sauce or mussels. When the little-pepper icon appears on the menu, it really does mean spicy. Desserts are a must—homemade rum-raisin ice cream, sorbet, yummy bread pudding and Key-lime pie.
