Exciting things are happening in the downtown area of DCPA and one of the latest is the Corner Office and Martini Bar in the Curtis Hotel. The separate entrance makes a perfect start to this terrific looking spot where the feel is upbeat and the food shines. The décor is modern, bright with great super graphics on the walls, huge windows, fun seating and a focal teak bar highlighted with backlit blue Lucite. The huge space is divided for a more intimate feel with many areas for dining. The martini list is huge and a great way to start the meal. Specialty drinks and wine add to the fun. The cuisine is billed as global comfort and lives up to expectations. Start with fried shishoto peppers, hummus with pita, crispy calamari and rock shrimp or chorizo quesadillas. The menu is designed for sharing-- do, as portions are huge. The corner office salad is a must with tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, onion, and pita tossed in Greek vinaigrette. The BBQ Vietnamese pork sandwich with pickled vegetables, the turkey club or burger served on super bread make a perfect choice for sandwich lovers. Tuna tartar, lobster mac and cheese, salmon teriyaki, and fish and chips show the extent of possibilities. Do not miss the fried chicken on a waffle with syrup for total decadence and the short ribs with mashed potatoes and collard greens to fill the need for comfort food. Desserts are outrageous: blueberry cheesecake waffle with maple syrup, hot chocolate, crème brulee, panna cotta, and chocolate cake. Detail to presentation is an added element. Service is excellent and friendly as staff encourages diners to relax and enjoy the experience. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch, all served at reasonable prices in upscale but casual surroundings make The Corner Office the place to be.
