Table 6 brings a great dining treat to the very popular East 6th Avenue dining scene. Seating 42, the interior features hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, a focal-point kitchen with copper trim and a small bar area for gathering. Bistro chalkboards with dessert and wine lists, butcher-block tables and black leather chairs set the scene. The overall feel is charming and upbeat. The food is extremely creative and executive chef Scott Parker does an amazing job with his interpretation of the dishes on this small, creative menu. Start with artichoke-and-spinach soup, baby beet salad with Mizuna, goat cheese, candied walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette or country-fried oyster cobb with crispy bacon. The white-shrimp hush puppies with roasted-plum cocktail sauce, fried green tomatoes with jamon, fresh mozzarella plus basil vinegar and Reuben sliders reflect the talent of Parker. Entrées are very exciting with divine accompaniments on each; seared tombo with mango poke, a brioche with a fried egg and arugula, minchilada rocky chicken with onion rings and grilled romaine, braised rabbit, lamb sirloin with yogurt smashed fingerlings and grilled flat iron steak with Maytag blue fries are examples of the imaginative menu on a given night. Vegetarians delight with a roasted-mushroom potpie and the pappardelle pasta with chicken confit, mushrooms, asparagus and peas is totally divine. Cherry-almond bread pudding, blood-orange cheesecake, margarita nachos and the most decadent chocolate beignets thrill dessert fans. The excellent wine list includes several selections under $10. Aaron Forman heads the front of the house as well as choosing the awesome wine list. Service shines with an informative, friendly staff. Table 6 does a remarkable job in every way and is tops in dining. Service shines with an informative, friendly staff. Table 6 definitely brings an exciting new taste to Denver dining.
